Crispy Air Fryer Gnocchi
Gnocchi as finger food elevates them to a level beyond just a pasta imitation. Gnocchi are potato-based dumplings that are often boiled then tossed with sauces, but crisping them up in an air fryer and then dipping them in sauce makes them so much more enjoyable. There’s added texture contrast between crunchy exterior and fluffy interior, and you can have a variety of sauces/dips for your gnocchi.
Air fryer gnocchi couldn’t be simpler! Adjust based on your tastes and gnocchi sizes. Seasoning and dip options are provided in the recipe card.

1 cup potato gnocchi
enough water to boil gnocchi
1 tsp oil
seasonings (salt, garlic powder, black pepper, onion power etc.)
sauces for serving (marinara, pesto, etc.)
Directions
- Bring the water to a boil. Once boiling, cook the gnocchi until tender (about 3 minutes for me).
- Scoop the cooked gnocchi into a bowl and combine with a light drizzle of oil and any spices of your choice. I used about
¼tsp each of salt, garlic and onion powder and a sprinkle of black pepper per cup of gnocchi, but adjust based on how much you are using and what sauces you are using as dip. - Spread the gnocchi in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
- Air fry for 7 minutes at 200 °C/390 °F. Give the basket a shake, flip over some of the gnocchi, and air fry for another 5-7 minutes or until browned and crispy to your liking. Repeat for more batches if needed.
- Serve with your favorite dips or eat plain!
